As a therapist, I am passionate about the work I do with my clients. I have experience working at the Houston Area Women's Center, where I worked alongside survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. My clinical experience started at a private practice group in Katy, where I started as a practicum student in 2013 and worked my way up to a Licensed Professional Counselor. In Fall of 2020, I made the transition into having my own private practice.
My theoretical approach has a strong foundation using client-centered techniques. With this approach, it allows for me to meet the client where they are at with no judgment. I also use an integrated approach to therapy, tailoring the techniques used specifically for what meets the client's needs. My continued education has been focused on trauma, anxiety, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and cultural competence.
I specialize in working with teen and adult clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety (generalized anxiety, social anxiety, etc.), lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) issues, trauma (medical or non-medical), and stress management.
I graduated from the University of Saint Thomas with my Masters of Education in Clinical Counseling in the Spring of 2014. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Houston with a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology minoring in Human Growth and Development. I am a member of the Texas Counseling Association (TCA), Texas Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development (TexAMCD), and Texas Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues in Counseling (TALBTIC).
